Simply Scored

 - by Angela Navarro

The Simply Scored Diagonal Plate is here!!! I have LOVED my Simply Scored tool by Stampin’ Up! since it came out AND now there’s even more to love. Both the Diagonal plate and the Scoring tool hold 12 x 12 sheets and scores every 1/8 inch. The scoring tool is light-weight which makes it easy to carry and store, and the Diagonal plate fits right on top (also for easy storage). This tool will help you create custom-sized, coordinating envelopes for your cards, embossed patterns, and lots of fun 3-D projects. And just as the name implies – it’s SIMPLE!

Coordinating products included:

  1. Simply Scored scoring tool (item 122334)
  2. Simply Scored Diagonal plate (item 125586)
  3.  Simply Scored Place Markers (item 125625)
  4.  Simply Scored Stylus (item 125624)
  5.  Bone Folder (item 102300)

For the man

 - by Angela Navarro

I think most stampers find it difficult to create masculine cards.  Partly due to the fact that we LOVE using ribbon and embellishments like pearls and rhinestones!  So, here are a few tips for creating a masculine card:

  1. use colors from our Neutrals and Regals collections
  2. add texture
  3. keep it simple and clean
  4. use geometric layers

Here is a card I made for my husband’s birthday.  I used the Morning Mocha Specialty paper.  This paper is SOOOOO gorgeous you will actually have a hard time using it because you don’t want to cut it up!  And it is equally useful for a feminine, masculine, soft, or vintage look because of the neutral colors.  I also included a layer of black cardstock embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing folder.  Brads are a great embellishment to use for a masculine card, for those of us who can’t resist.  I used the Family Reunion stamp set on the card front (Husband), as well as inside (Happy Birthday).  And here is one last tip…to create perfect ends to your banner, insert the end halfway through your square punch – MUCH easier than trying to snip perfectly symmetrical tails.

Teeny Tiny Wishes

At some of the classes I attended at Leadership, we were told to be sure and blog about our Leadership experience for a chance to win a free stamp set. That sounded easy enough for me – I had alot to share about Leadership. And this past week, I was thrilled to get a call from Stampin’ Up! saying I had been selected to get a free stamp set for my blog post – HOW EXCITING! Honestly, when I wrote the posts about Leadership, I kinda said in the back of my head, “there’s no way they’ll see mine out of all the demos who will post about Leadership”. So needless to say, I was ecstatic to get the call and the stamp set I chose was….

Teeny Tiny Wishes

This is probably one of the FIRST stamp sets you should ever buy, and yet I still didn’t have it until now. Can you believe it?!?! It is a set of 24 sentiments for every occasion. I’m sure I’ll be using it for everything now that I FINALLY have it!

March classes

 - by Angela Navarro

I am very excited about holding TWO classes for the month of March.  Both will be showcasing techniques and ideas I learned at the Leadership conference.  I hope you will join me for one or both of the classes.

Organizer and Planner Class

Need a little help keeping yourself organized?! Join me for a class where we will make a beautiful organizer complete with a tablet and several pockets to hold To-Do lists, shopping lists, receipts, and more. The class will be held on Saturday, March 10th at 2 pm and the class fee will be $25 or FREE with a minimum $30 order. Please RSVP by March 7th.

Bake and Take

This class will be loaded with fun tips and tricks to use stamps, punches, and other Stampin’ Up! products for decorating cookies, cupcakes, and more! We will also be making custom packaging to hold our treats. This is a great opportunity to introduce Stampin’ Up! to a friend who loves to bake. Plus, I’ll be sharing a DELICIOUS sugar-free, gluten-free cookie recipe. The class will be held on Saturday, March 24 at 2 pm. The class fee is $25 or FREE with a $30 or more purchase. Please RSVP by March 21.

Coming and Going

 - by Angela Navarro

Announcements were made at Leadership this year about changes that will be taking place concerning our catalogs. The current catalog will be available through May 31 and the NEW catty will debut in June (a month earlier than previous years). Also, two lines will be discontinued – Simply Adorned, our jewelry line, and Decor Elements, our vinyl appliques. So I wanted to give you a “heads up” so you can get these while they are still available. There will also be changes to our Mini Catalogs and I will kept you informed on that as the time approaches.  Place an order of $50 or more and receive a FREE item from the Sale-A-Bration catalog through March 31.

Happy Valentine’s!

 - by Angela Navarro

Happy Valentine’s Day!  I hope you had a chance to make some cute Valentine creations and I would love for you to send me an email so I can see them.  Here is one last card idea, just in case you are a “last minute” type.  I used Crumb Cake as the card base and ran the bottom half through the Big Shot for some embossed polka dots.  The Real Red DSP and Chocolate Chip cardstock are added for some layers.  I really LOOOVE the new Framelits and have been using them every chance I get!  So on this card the framelits hug the I (heart) U which were also cut with the Big Shot.

Let me take a minute to spread a little love around and say that I SO appreciate my customers, my downline, my upline, and all of the wonderful people I’ve gotten to know through Stampin’ Up!

Our Statement of the Heart is:

To love what we do and share what we love, as we help others enjoy creativity and worthwhile accomplishments…in this we make a difference!

I hope you know that you are loved and appreciated!

{{hugs}} – Angela

I (heart) scraps

 - by Angela Navarro

I’m a little crazy, I’ll admit, when it comes to throwing away scraps. I just WILL NOT throw a piece away if can be used in any way. So needless to say, I have ALOT of little pieces in all colors. So a card like this is a perfect solution. Just get some scraps together in whatever coordinating colors you like/have and start punching circles and hearts. I also used the paper piercer to add “a little something” by poking small holes to make a pattern above and below the rows of hearts. Glue dots work great to adhere the tiny hearts. The “love you” sentiment is from the Short and Sweet stamp set.  This is also a great alternative for those who are not fond of the traditional red and pink color combo.

XO

I got the Big Shot out for this Valentine’s card and used the Timless Type Junior Alphabet dies for the X and O. And as I mentioned in the previous post, Glimmer Paper and heart punches are essential for your Valentines crafting.  The rhinestone adds extra bling too! This is a 3×3 mini card on textured Black cardstock.  Use the card alone, as a gift tag, or transform it into a lollipop holder by punching two small holes at the bottom and securing with a ribbon.

This project is fast, easy, and super cute!

Be Mine Valentine

 - by Angela Navarro

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner!  I pulled out this card that I made last year, and I’ll be posting more V-day craft ideas for you. Most of the supplies used are still current with the exception of the musical note DSP.  However, we do have a roller stamp called Music Notes that would give the same look.  Our Red Glimmer paper is a definite “must have” for your Valentine’s crafts and our different heart punches make it a cinch to get it all done in a snap.  For this card I used the You’re a Gem stamp set and if you take a close look, you can see a clear embossed image of the key from the Artistic Etchings stamp set.  Plus, the dangling Trinket Key really adds personality.  Contact me to order any of the supplies used here and stay tuned for more Valentine ideas!
